Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Support team member to join our night shift team in Ottawa. This position primarily covers weekend shifts, with potential for on-call hours during the week. The Warehouse Support worker will assist with receiving, organizing, and dispatching goods, ensuring smooth warehouse operations during off-peak hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment or delivery.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Perform inventory checks and help reconcile any discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the warehouse.
- Communicate with logistics and purchasing teams regarding stock levels as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
- Record all inventory and shipments using warehouse management software.
- Perform other duties as required.
Shifts:
- Night shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
- On-call availability during the week for extra hours if needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting is an asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management software.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid forklift certification is an asset but not required (training provided).
Working Conditions:
- Must be comfortable working night shifts and in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
