JOB SUMMARY:
As a valued member of the team, the Resident Care Aide demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with organization’s vision and mission. The Resident Care Aide is accountable to the Director of Wellness for the provision of care services, support with activities of daily living and housekeeping services as assigned utilizing customer service principles that strive to always provide exceptional service. The Resident Care Aide is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the core values, ensure resident safety, and demonstrate customer service excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing rotational cleaning practices & infection control principles & wears personal protective equipment as designated.
Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignment.
Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required.
Communicates with Director of Wellness about problems related to resident care and/or safety.
Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the supervisor.
Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships with all team members.
Follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents.
Maintains a sound working knowledge of their role & responsibilities during all Emergency situations when working different shifts.
Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
Current CPR training recommended.
Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
Meets the criteria as outlined in the Levante Living Vaccination Policy.
