Overview
Responsible for selecting and purchasing quality materials in accordance with company policies and guidelines. This person will draw on their previous experience and judgement to plan and execute tasks while maintaining a strong relationship with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong ability to identify and solve problems to ensure materials are ordered and in stock to meet all commitments and strategic objectives while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
Duties
- Develop and maintain purchasing process:
- RFQ process/Quoting
- New Product Introduction
- Purchase Order Issuance
- Monitor Open Orders
- Material Standards
- Manage annual cost savings initiatives for buying portfolio.
- Supplier relationship management including escalation of all significant supply chain threats and resolving any commercial issues
- Participate in shortage review meetings with Supply Chain
- Create and manage standard Supply Agreements for key suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance
- Complete Supplier Scorecards and review for key suppliers
- Manage commercial issues with suppliers, i.e. lead-time, MOQ reduction, payment terms, invoice/payment escalations etc.
- Monitor inventory levels/trends and take corrective action as required
- Work collaboratively with internal customers to resolve material issues in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- 3-year college Business Diploma or equivalent experience
- 5 years in a Purchasing Role
- Experience in managing suppliers
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry, plus an understanding of markets and commodities an asset but not required
- Project Management experience
- Advance proficiency at Microsoft Office package
- APIC’s /PMAC courses and/or another accreditation considered an asset
