Benecore Training Inc. is looking for a motivated and experienced Class Instructor & Personal Trainer to join our team.
We specialize in working with older adults and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where clients can build strength, improve balance, maintain independence, and stay active within their community.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work confidently with clients across a range of abilities and fitness levels. This includes delivering one-on-one personal training, semi-private training (up to 3:1), and both small and large group classes.
This position requires strong knowledge of exercise programming, the ability to appropriately modify exercises, and sound professional judgment when selecting progressions, regressions, and adaptations based on each client's needs.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other health and rehabilitation professionals when implementing exercise programs prescribed or recommended by treatment providers.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up equipment for classes and personal training sessions.
- Deliver safe, effective, and engaging personal training sessions in 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 formats.
- Lead small and large group fitness classes with participants of varying abilities and experience levels.
- Conduct new-client assessments and develop individualized exercise programs based on client goals, abilities, and limitations.
- Apply appropriate exercise progressions, regressions, and modifications during both personal training and group sessions.
- Adapt programs when clients present with new injuries, changes in physical ability, or flare-ups of existing conditions.
- Manage and schedule your personal training clients within your available hours and the facility's schedule.
- Make timely contact with new personal training clients after receiving their information.
- Track client attendance, progress, and programming using the organization's cloud-based software.
- Regularly review and update personal and semi-private training programs to ensure they continue to meet individual client goals.
- Participate in monthly programming meetings and contribute to planning for upcoming class programming.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment, including light cleaning of equipment.
- Develop positive, professional relationships with members and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive gym environment.
- Work collaboratively with the gym owners and other professionals involved in client care.
- Exercise independent judgment when adapting programs to meet individual client needs.
- Build and develop a personal training client base through strong relationships, communication, and quality service.
Qualifications & Requirements Required
- Current CPR & First Aid certification.
- Current certification/accreditation through a recognized fitness organization, such as BCRPA Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor, or an equivalent recognized credential.
- Experience teaching group fitness classes and/or personal training.
- Ability to safely coach functional movement patterns and provide appropriate exercise progressions and regressions.
- Ability to work effectively with clients of varying physical abilities within the same session.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a personal training schedule, and demonstrate sound professional judgment.
Considered an Asset
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Registered Kinesiologist designation.
- CSEP-CPT certification.
- CSCS certification.
- Experience working with older adults.
- Experience working with individuals managing chronic conditions, joint replacements, balance concerns, or other physical limitations.
Knowledge & Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, exercise science, functional movement, injury prevention, and exercise programming.
- An understanding of the unique considerations involved in training older adults.
- The ability to clearly explain and demonstrate exercises.
- The ability to recognize when an exercise should be progressed, regressed, or modified.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and programs simultaneously.
- The ability to create a positive and supportive experience for clients of different ages and abilities.
- A professional, dependable, and client-focused approach.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in developing a personal training clientele.
