Slated to open summer 2026 in beautiful Orléans, Ontario, our brand-new Residence will feature 134 private rooms and 90 shared rooms - each designed for comfort and dignity. Residents will benefit from 24-hour nursing care and personalized support that help them live well, feel valued, and stay connected to what matters most.

The Assistant Director of Care reports to the Director of Care and provides direction to the nursing team in all aspects of residents’ care within established legislative standards in collaboration with the Director of Care. Acts as a mentor to the Nurse Managers and Registered team members in the clinical areas, conflict and problem resolutions, communication and personal and professional growth. Effectively manages human, material and fiscal resources. In collaboration with the Director of Care and the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee you will develop and implement resident-focused programs, policies and procedures. Monitors the quality of care and services delivered to clients through effective quality improvement activities.
Wage Rate:
The starting annual salary is $33,630, as this is a part-time position.

What you will Do:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Promote and support the organization’s mission, vision and values (MVV).
Coordinate clinical programs as directed by the Director of Care.
Provide direction to the nursing team in all aspects of resident care and takes on the role of the Director of Care (DOC) in the absence of the DOC.
Implement, evaluate and support new care programs and services based on best practices.
Demonstrate sound knowledge of the resident bill of rights and monitors to ensure the rights of residents are always respected and promoted. Models a person-centered care approach.
Maintain legislative compliance with all appropriate legislations; Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, etc.
Act as a mentor for Clinical Leads in clinical areas, conflict and problem resolutions, communication, personal and professional growth.
Conduct regular clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with documentation, standards, internal policies, procedures and legislations.
Assist with the development of policies and procedures consistent with resident evidenced-based care practices, College of Nurses of Ontario, Ministry of Long-Term Care, and other applicable legislation.
In collaboration with the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, Leadership, and Resident Care Teams develop, track, and evaluate quality and risk indicators and be part of the annual QIP development.
Qualifications you will Require:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse registered with a regulatory authority in a Canadian jurisdiction, other than Ontario, and holds in that jurisdiction the equivalent of a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice in Ontario as of right exemption Bill 60.
Minimum of one (1) year of managerial experience in a long-term care setting is an asset.
Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices.
Proficiency in electronic health records.
A Gerontology certificate program or equivalent is an asset.
Knowledge of RAI-MDS – AIS certified, if not must be completed successfully within one (1) year of being hired.
Being bilingual in French and English is an extraordinary asset.
