The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa, a 502 room, 45,000 sq. ft of banquet space is seeking a Revenue Manager to join our management team. This position is a temporary maternity leave coverage position with an anticipated duration of up to 18 months. The successful candidate may begin prior to the incumbent's leave to allow for a training and transition period.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Revenue Manager oversees the revenue management department of the hotel (rooms & food & beverage) including strategizing, analysing and executing of revenue management. The Revenue Manager will work with all hotel management departments in determining strategic goals and tactical efforts, which drives revenue to the property. This position will be responsible for ensuring that inventory allocation and pricing parameters are positioned to support the overall revenue goals of the hotel. This role serves as the objective decision maker that ensures the best interest of profitability is served in the overall hotel, as well as ensuring the integrity of rates and long-term customer investment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and manages hotel pricing strategies by defining and managing rate levels and rate level conditions relative to demand factors

Completes ongoing analysis of changing distribution channel models and the impact on consumer booking trends to aid in more accurate forecasting

Monitors all market segment booking pace patterns and reacts accordingly by controlling reservation distribution sources to maximize revenue – discusses changes and ensures quick and efficient implementation of changes

Monitors all branded channels and maximizes opportunities from the brand

Maximizes total sales and yield penetration, through proper management of inventories and public space and through analytical and technical knowledge Sales and Catering Management System and Front Office system

Develops and recommends sales strategies, room mix, catering contribution, and pricing

Obtains data that validates our position within our comp set and develops strategies that allows us to outpace and out perform

Establishes transient room rate contracts, set group ceilings and target rates, catering minimums and space release policies

Maintains current knowledge of all brand revenue – related programs and challenges brand contribution

Develops fundamentals and provides guideline mechanisms for catering events/function space and all other revenue streams at the hotel

Analyses trends to be able to set daily, short term and long term goals for occupancy and average rates

Identifies branded packaging opportunities in periods of high and low demand

Practices total revenue management to ensure guest bedrooms, meeting space and restaurant are yielded to generate maximum Rev Pac & Rev per square foot and Rev per seat

Produces detailed and accurate reports to management: geographic and market segments, competitor reports, accurate tracking, customer performance report and demand positions

Produces a status report weekly, monthly and yearly forecast

In conjunction with the sales team, determines rate philosophy and structure; drives business based on yield management but yet flexible during need periods

Conducts weekly revenue meetings with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Sales and Catering teams

Ensures that a strategic mix of business and pricing has been set based on market conditions to drive revenue, profitability and exceed GOP.

Reviews budget on an ongoing basis.

Ensures room revenue forecast is accurate within 5%

Maintains a good awareness of each competing hotels by performing a SWOT Analysis

Assists with the marketing/business plan development and implementation

Ensures that all Revenue Management department initiatives are executed

Acts as the central communications point for all internal/external requests that will relate to revenue strategies

Completes/attends all Hilton training courses leading to certification (R&I, RMS, and PEP)
QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary education in hospitality/revenue management preferred
-
At least 2-3 years of solid Revenue Management experience within a full service hotel, preferably a Hilton property with PEP experience.

Excellent analytical, communication, customer service and organizational skills to be effective in their position.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Must be a strong leader who can focus a group on achieving the goal of creating revenue for the hotel.

Strong attention to detail, above average mathematic skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to develop pricing strategies, including building rates for rooms and packages and the ability to determine discounts & specialty rates

Forecasting pricing and revenue based on demand & market trends

Ability to evaluate trends in the economy & hospitality industry

Create promotional plans to increase revenue

Understand inventory management processes

Generate revenue reports
