ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As a FinOps Associate, you will be an integral part of our FinOps operations team, supporting the management of cloud-related expenses, usage, and processes. Your role will involve collaborating with senior FinOps professionals and assisting in analyzing cloud usage data, tracking budgets, participating in process improvement initiatives. By contributing to cost analysis and operational efficiency, you help shape the future of financial operations in the cloud environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Assists in analyzing cloud usage data and preparing reports.

Monitor usage of cloud services and resources to increase efficiency and reduce unnecessary spending.

Assist on the development and implementation of strategies to optimize costs without sacrificing quality or performance.

Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional team to guide them in implementing cost-saving measures.

Work closely with IT professionals to support them on financial matters and improve operational efficiency.

Helps track budgets and contributes to financial forecasts.

Assist in ensuring that all technology expenses, contracts, and agreements are in line with company policies, industry standards, and government regulations.

Support initiatives to educate team members on the latest cost-saving techniques and strategies in the IT industry.

Stay current with developments in cloud services, hardware, and software, ensuring company technology investments are cost-effective and aligned with business objectives.

Participates in process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- accounting, or IT roles.

At least 2 years of experience in a previous role.

Basic understanding of cloud computing and financial concepts.

Proficiency in financial and Business Analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI).

Competent in data analysis.

Ability to multitask on numerous tasks and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

Strong organizational skills.

Clear interest in technology and desire to stay up to date in a moving field.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Proficiency in creating data models and reports with Microsoft Power BI.

Basic knowledge of commercial cost optimization tools such as CloudHealth, Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, Flexera Cloud Management Platform (RightScale), Apptio Cloudabilty, Kubernetes Cost management Tools.

Willingness to stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in financial operations and cost optimization through self-learning, training, or professional development programs.

Ability to communicate complex financial concepts and insights effectively through presentations and reports, facilitating decision-making at various levels within the organization.
