Job Summary:
Kenhtè:ke Midwives is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented House Mother to maintain a welcoming, safe, organized and supportive environment for clients, families, staff and community members.
Reporting to the Administrative Lead, the House Mother is responsible for facility cleaning and maintenance, food preparation and kitchen oversight, inventory & supply management, and non-clinical support as needed.
This position plays an important role in supporting the overall functioning and atmosphere of the clinic.
Required Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Janitorial or facilities maintenance work-related experience
- Safe Food Handler certificate
- Knowledge of infection prevention & control practices
- A satisfactory vulnerable sector check will be required upon hiring
- This role involves frequent standing, bending, lifting and carrying objects up to 50lbs
Assets:
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Experience working within a First Nations community, healthcare setting, or wellness practice
Preference may be given to qualified Indigenous candidates in accordance with section 24(1)(a) of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
