Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and administrative tasks with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. Prior experience in dental or medical office settings is highly valued, along with familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and coordinate patient communications
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately using Dentrix or Epic software
- Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for upcoming procedures
- Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently
- Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up on patient inquiries or rescheduling needs
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence as needed
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice operations
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures in a healthcare setting
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Prior experience with front desk operations, appointment scheduling, and billing processes is preferred
