Job Description:
As an AgriEdge Program Trainee, you will engage in a structured program combining occupational skills training, employability skills development, certification, and practical work experience. The program is designed to prepare you for roles such as:
- Customer Service Representative (Financial Institutions)
- Technical Sales Specialist (Wholesale Trade)
- Accounting & Related Clerks
- Financial Sales Representative
- Administrative Officers & Assistants
Qualifications:

Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Skilled immigrants with a high school diploma or GED (18+ years of age).
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) should be a minimum of 6.5 or 7.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant skills and industry knowledge.

What You’ll Learn: By enrolling in AgriEdge Careers, you’ll learn from industry instructors from Olds College of Agriculture and Technology and gain expertise in Agri-Business Financial Management, covering financial statement analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
Financial Statement Analysis
- Convert Cash Income Statement to accrual.
- Analyze Income Statement, Owner's Equity, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Contrast Balance Sheet and Net Worth.
- Calculate returns to labour, management, and investment.
Budgeting
- Classify decision-making costs.
- Determine cost/revenue splits.
- Develop enterprise, partial, and total budgets.
Risk Management
- Define risk and uncertainty.
- Identify and assess strategies.
Program Term: We are now recruiting for in-class training starting on September 9, 2024, in Calgary, AB. AgriEdge has three intake cohorts (September, January, and April), each running for 11 weeks. The program includes a 3-week work experience with an additional 90-day (bi-weekly) follow-up period.
