Job Description
As an organization committed to breaking down barriers and strengthening a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), MLSE is currently seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition leader with the ability to work cross-functionally in driving inclusive hiring practices that align with the organizations’ Values and business objectives. The ideal candidate has proven leadership capabilities in implementing inclusive sourcing strategies and effective recruitment marketing campaigns, aligned with the employer's value proposition. Develop and operationalize an inclusive talent acquisition strategy that meets MLSE’s current and future talent needs.

Serve as subject matter expert and liaison to business groups and functional partners across MLSE on standardized processes and practices for talent acquisition.

Establish routine reporting on attraction efforts and hiring to identify the efficacy of the programs and initiatives and develop areas for increased focus and improvement.

Build and maintain a pipeline of diverse candidates through innovative sourcing strategies, developing a segmented approach to attracting and hiring underrepresented populations in our community, including Black, Indigenous, and other persons of color, persons with disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+ and women, as well as the intersectionality of any of these groups.

Develop strategic external relationships to stay informed of industry trends impacting priority talent channels.

Hold hiring managers and leadership accountable to the strategy and drive consistency and strong governance, actively challenging and ensuring meaningful progress and reporting.

Partner with the Leagues (NBA, NHL, MLS and CFL) and internal partners to develop resources and tools for hiring managers to optimize the candidate experience.

Inform and help drive the recruitment technology roadmap, optimizing the tech stack to ensure a seamless experience for candidates and hiring managers.

Develop strong sourcing networks, social media presence, and centers of influence regionally.

Challenge the status quo and provide an informed point of view to guide and advise on equity in sourcing programs, policies, and practices, acting as a key enabler and champion of MLSE’s EDI efforts. Lead recruitment for Director-level and above hiring needs across the organization and other roles as needed.

Coach and mentor the Talent Acquisition (TA) team, including two TA Specialists and one Coordinator, continuing to evolve the department to respond to changing market needs.

Strong capabilities in developing talent acquisition practices, leading strategy, managing budgets, and partnering with HR Business Partners for effective workforce planning.

Deep understanding and demonstrable experience in crafting and leading an inclusive sourcing practice.

Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to operationalize concepts and transform ideas into action.

Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities in articulating clear messages and tackling complex issues tactfully.

Experience speaking at conferences and/or workshops about related fields.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities.

Ability to self-manage; self-motivate and influence & develop teams across reporting lines.
