Position Summary
The Paint Prep Technician plays a key role in supporting the finishing process by preparing door system components for painting and staining. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality to ensure all parts meet Artema’s high standards before and after finishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the finishing team to process door system parts through the finishing department
- Prepare parts and panels for painting or staining, including:
- Labeling components
- Inspecting for quality
- Sanding as required
- Transferring parts to racking
- Assist with moving painted parts to the drying oven
- Inspect finished parts and panels to ensure they meet quality standards
- Support daily housekeeping by keeping the department clean, organized, and safe
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflow and consistent quality

Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in paint prep, finishing, manufacturing, or woodworking is an asset (training provided)
- Ability to perform sanding and detailed prep work
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Physically capable of handling parts and standing for extended periods
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and workmanship
