MONKEY builds enterprise-grade catering software for restaurant organizations that operate at scale. We’re looking for a backend-leaning Full Stack Engineer who enjoys solving meaningful product problems, designing thoughtful systems, and shipping high-quality software that customers rely on every day.
This role is a strong fit for someone whose center of gravity is backend design, API design, and system evolution. You’ll help modernize and grow a cloud-based SaaS platform used in real operational environments, with the chance to shape both new features and the way existing systems are improved over time.
What you’ll do
-
Design, build, and refine full stack features for a multi-tenant SaaS platform serving enterprise restaurant and catering customers.
-
Design and implement backend services and REST APIs with strong attention to clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
-
Work across Java/Spring services and modern React/Node.js applications as part of an evolving platform.
-
Contribute to architectural improvements and help move existing patterns toward more event-driven designs over time.
-
Write automated tests and help maintain a reliable, secure, production-ready engineering environment.
-
Author and maintain CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions and participate in the full lifecycle from design through deployment.
-
Collaborate closely with product and engineering peers to turn real-world customer needs into thoughtful software solutions.
-
Take ownership of the features you build, with a strong focus on follow-through, product quality, and steady delivery.
What we’re looking for
-
Professional experience as a full stack engineer, with strong backend depth and comfort working across the stack.
-
Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate in production systems.
-
Production experience with React and Node.js.
-
Experience designing and implementing REST APIs in real-world applications.
-
Experience working with cloud-based SaaS applications and multi-tenant product considerations.
-
Familiarity with message-based or event-driven systems.
-
Experience shipping meaningful software in e-commerce, ERP, or CRM environments; e-commerce experience is especially relevant for this role.
-
Commitment to automated testing, code quality, and secure development practices, including awareness of common web security risks.
-
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including hands-on work with GitHub Actions or similar tooling.
Nice to have
-
Experience with approval workflows, complex pricing, or enterprise order flows.
-
Exposure to POS integrations or payment gateways.
-
Experience with Azure Cosmos DB or other document databases.
-
Familiarity with observability practices and OTEL-style instrumentation.
-
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools, or interest in learning within an established cloud environment.
-
Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or catering software.
