Status: Regular/Full Time
This position will be responsible for supporting and managing the international distribution and logistics network for APOC, reporting to Manager, Order Fulfillment and Distribution.
Independently contributes to large, complex logistics/distribution projects with broad organizational impact. Lead the regional distribution implementation; transportation optimization and integration of the flow of goods and the related financial flow.
Balances the needs of multiple users to define business requirements, develops and assesses alternatives or new processes, and recommends most effective solution. This usually includes coordinating activities across functional groups.
Responsible for managing relationships with Abbott International Affiliates, freight service providers and distribution partners.
Applies seasoned import, export, and traffic and distribution knowledge to achieve effective solutions, in the areas of customs management, distribution, ERP configuration and functionality.
Manages complex projects relating to Logistics systems and processes, to optimize efficiency for APOC.
Develops and manages a number of KPI with key stakeholders, 3PLs and carriers to ensure APOC performance levels are achieved
Analyzes freight requirements and institutes an on-going measurement program of selected carrier performance, ensuring follow-up as required to resolve issues.
Responsible for maintaining relevance of industry knowledge of regulatory requirements to assure compliance and adherence to all solutions developed and implemented globally. Scope to include: components of the quality system; international regulatory; local country Ministry of Health (MOH); U.S. Customs Compliance; USDA; and multiple related agencies which regulate distribution and transportation of Abbott goods globally.
Accountable for accurate analysis and representation of savings and costs associated with freight, warehouse, import/export duties, taxes and serve as a trade compliance expert for the division.
Manage a team of 4~5 members’ performance.
Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree Required: Advanced Degree desirable; i.e. MBA; Masters
Other distribution-logistics and/or supply chain certifications desirable
Typically requires 10+ years of related experience in business, logistics, supply chain or equivalent.
Experience managing customer service & repair organizations.
Customs experience working with various regulatory and government agencies.
Experience leading initiatives and/or large project that provide large financial benefits to the organization.
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency.
Demonstrated ability to drive for results and set vision/strategy.
Ability to identify and evaluate unique ways to improve the organization (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products); generating useful new ideas, approaches or techniques.
Knowledge of SAP and other ERP business systems.
Knowledge and experience in managing operations impacted by Quality systems.
Understanding the order to cash model.
Knowledge of international customs laws and regulations.
Understanding of various international business models and flow of orders and inventory.
Understand various carriers and freight forwarders service offering
