Overall Responsibility:
Works along side engineering and maintenance personnel to install, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation. Layout, assemble, install, or maintain pipe/tubing systems, pipe/tube supports or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, pneumatic, hot water, heating, cooling, or industrial production or processing systems.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Work closely with the technical staff to ensure safe and reliable operation of process instrumentation and control systems.
- Install and maintain instruments on new or existing equipment.
- Calibrate, repair, maintain, and adjust system components.
- Provide general troubleshooting and loop checks in field installations.
- Must be able to travel to and from project sites.
- Coordination with colleagues in other trades on multi-discipline projects.
- Coordination with clients, equipment vendors and contractors on projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal – Instrumentation and Control Technician (Industrial Instrument Mechanic) or Red Seal Pipefitter with instrumentation and tubing experience.
- Working knowledge of process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, pH, gas monitors, etc.)
- Solid experience in the construction, repair, and alteration of instrument tubing
- Ability to understand and use P&ID diagrams, isometrics, schematics, panel layouts and other engineering documentation.
- Proper use and working knowledge of test and measurement equipment (DVDM’s, signal generators, HART calibrator, other instrument calibration equipment).
- Oil & Gas, municipal water & waste and/or Power Generation industry experience would be an asset.
