Reporting to the Director, the Specialist provides for the design, support and integration of high quality and highly available, clinical and business oriented technologies.
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, Information Management or a related discipline. At least five years' experience working within or directly with a health care system including several years as a project manager, coordinator or senior technical systems administrator. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) training and experience required.
Skills And Abilities
Demonstrated success as a project manager, coordinator or senior technical systems administrator and the successful completion of large information technology acquisition or design and build within the last three years.
Demonstrated ability to write technical standards documents.
Intermediate to expert-level system implementation, Privacy and Security standards and best practices skills.
Proven ability to track, coordinate and integrate external issues as they affect Island Health's Strategic plans.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate contract documents such as RFP's, RFI's, RFQ's etc
Proven ability to write, analyze and edit project plans, proposals, Service Level Agreements, MOU's for accuracy and consistency.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve with an overall Island Health perspective in alignment with key strategic priorities.
Demonstrated ability to establish and manage relationships with internal and external strategic partners and solution providers.
Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of internal stakeholders supported by an acute awareness of the impact of action.
Demonstrated ability to apply an evidence-based framework to inform decision-making.
Excellent presentation, interviewing, facilitating, and negotiating skills.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
