Responsible for providing daily maintenance operations for the farm, prioritizing major and minor repairs to minimize production downtime. Responsible for training new Maintenance associates; PM’s, repairs, troubleshooting farm equipment and safe operation of equipment. Supports the farm by providing new installations and restorations to equipment and/or buildings, implementing efficiencies to reduce or minimize breakdowns, and ensuring timely repairs.
Has knowledge of all farm operations, equipment, and maintenance responsibilities
Has low voltage electrical experience and knowledge; completes minor electrical jobs
Performs minor and major repairs on buildings and equipment unsupervised including, but not limited to, welding, replacing and repairing parts, hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and equipment, buildings and facilities
Trains new maintenance associates on PM’s, repairs, troubleshooting farm equipment and safe operation of equipment.
Completes preventative maintenance duties and completes checklists as assigned
Assists in evaluating jobs and determines requirements
May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
Assists and supports contractors
Assists in verifying that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operable, as requested
Assists maintenance personnel with major and minor repairs
Performs building upkeep, including shop cleaning, painting, removing garbage, etc.
Performs occasional grounds keeping as required
Constructs catwalks and front of rooms as needed
Observes and reports any issues on farm
Able to come in after hour call-ins
Performs any other duties as assigned
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be eligible to work in Canada for any employer, without restrictions.
Ten to fifteen years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair preferred
Experience and/or education/training in pneumatic controls, welding, hydraulics, farm equipment is an asset.
Shift start time: 4:00pm - finish around 1:00am
Any 5 days / week
Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled
Daily shift end times vary based on production needs
