We are seeking a technically skilled Mechanical Designer to support our HVAC manufacturing operations in Barrie, ON. The ideal candidate will assist in designing and optimizing electrical systems for our innovative HVAC equipment. Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical designs for commercial HVAC equipment, optimizing components and layouts.
- Design and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring subassemblies.
- Program and test PLC controllers.
- Select and evaluate instrumentation, wiring, and power components.
- Troubleshoot and refine electrical designs during prototype and production stages.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance designs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
- Prepare technical documentation and bills of materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma.
- License: HVAC
- Technical Skills: AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software, Electrical power design, inverters, and VFD drives and PLC controllers and programming.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in equipment design and development (HVAC industry is an asset)
