What is the opportunity?
RBC’s Trade Execution, Clearance and Brokerage – Analytics and Control (TECBAC) group is looking for a Cost Analyst to work within the CM Ops Performance Management team. This team manages and controls the firm’s 3rd party trade related cost base. They act as the centre of excellence for reconciliation of invoices, processing of payments, internal allocation of costs and subsequent reporting to all impacted stakeholders across the firm. TECBAC also provides analytics, predictive forecasting and financial modeling to further improve the transparency of costs, produce value-added MI to enable effective vendor management, identification of cost savings opportunities and to contribute towards the firm’s budgeting / new business evaluation processes.
What will you do?
Invoice Reconciliation and Exception Investigation and resolution – where possible, using internal data, reconcile the charges levied against contractual agreements. Where breaks are identified, investigate and resolve through liaison with appropriate internal and external parties in line with required policies and controls.
Allocation of costs on fully reconciled invoices to the appropriate businesses ensuring allocations and payment of invoices are approved by appropriate business representative and in line with RBC policies and controls.
Provide Business Support with relevant monthly analytics
Improve and enhance existing / future processing, reporting and data availability/quality
What do you need to succeed?
BBA / BComm / BSc / BA
Knowledge of end-to-end trade life cycle functions/processes within a Capital Markets, Securities Trading, Brokerage or similar environment, gained through experience.
Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Excel, VBA and SQL.
Comfortable with adhering to committed deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Understanding of the flow of costs related to the business of a Capital Markets firm; experience in Operations a distinct asset.
Knowledge of RBC’s operating platforms and accounting systems; including eGL and related sub-ledgers, ADP, BTS, PeopleSoft, etc
Knowledge of Revport considered an asset
