Cost Accountant, Margin Accounting - (Calgary, Alberta, Canada or Saskatoon, SK)

This position will report to Senior Manager, Margin Accounting.
What you will do:
Prepare reports to support allocation of month-end costs across SAP plants and products
Post monthly JEs and ensure accurate reporting for SAP plant costs
Provide support and act as a first point of contact with the SAP plant accountants
Manage and reconcile all SAP trade give-take contracts
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and provide quarterly variance analysis
Complete quarterly COPM to COGS reconciliation
Maintain and develop process documentation related to this role
Ensure SOX compliance and provide recommendations to senior management on developing controls
Support ongoing process improvement initiatives
Participate in finance projects where applicable
Perform ad hoc and non-routine requests as assigned
What you will bring:
Professional accounting designation or working towards getting designation
A minimum of five years accounting experience
Experience with SAP preferred
Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to embrace change and have a “process improvement” mindset
Ability to dig into transactional data to problem solve and troubleshoot issues
Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks, projects, stakeholder interests, and deadlines
Ability to be flexible in deliverables and reprioritize as new requests arise
Attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables)
