Our client, a leader in heavy fabrication and machining, is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled trades professional who enjoys working on both production and custom fabrication projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Layout, fit, align, and secure components using measuring tools, clamps, and tack welds.
- Select appropriate welding equipment and determine proper welding sequences.
- Prepare materials for welding through grinding, beveling, scale removal, and carbon arc cleaning.
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding according to specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect completed welds, identify defects, and perform repairs as required.
- Shape and modify metal components using arc and flame-cutting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
- Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities related to non-conforming products.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all company health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Welder/Fitter in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, weld defects, and quality inspection methods.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is considered an asset.
- Ability to read drawings in both first and third-angle projection.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- CWB certification is considered an asset.

Compensation:
- $20.00 - $32.00 / hour (depending on experience)
