Inquisitive mind? Love to travel? Security Screening Investigators employed by the Contract Security Program are responsible for conducting interviews and administrative investigations for contractors seeking access to sensitive government sites, information, and assets across the country.
Intent of the process
Positions to staff are currently located at 2745 Iris Street, Ottawa, Ontario. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, within Public Services and Procurement Canada with various language requirements, security requirements and tenures.

Any of the qualifications below could be considered essential qualifications for a position being staffed. This DOES NOT MEAN that you must meet all of these qualifications but these qualifications could be a determining factor in the selection of candidates for appointment. Therefore, you must submit a complete application, consisting of responses to the screening questions which clearly demonstrate how you meet the screening criteria (education and experience) and a résumé. Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of experience, education and/or training.
EDUC 2 :
Two (2) years post-secondary education in a field related to the position being staffed.
Experience conducting security screening analysis or interviews.
Experience in writing reports.
Experience in providing advice and guidance on security related matters.
Experience in conducting open source research.
Experience in supervision.
Experience in analyzing open source information and reports.
Experience in tactical or strategic intelligence analysis.
Experience in contributing to the development program-related operational policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Experience in evidence based procedures.
Recent(1*) and significant(2*) experience in conducting complex (3*) investigations pertaining to security OR administration OR compliance in a regulatory context.
Recent(1*) and significant (2*) experience in preparing written material such as briefings, reports and recommendations.
1* - Recent is defined as experience obtained within the last five years.
2* - Experience is considered significant in terms of degree of depth, scope, complexity and duration. Candidates would normally be expected to have developed significant experience over a period of more than three years.
3* - To be considered "complex", investigations must be multidimensional, require multiple information to be analyzed, be sensitive or confidential.

- What does it mean to be “included in inventory“?

- What does it mean when I receive a notification from PSRS stating that I have been screened-out/permanently eliminated from an inventory?
A: Human Resources Team may remove your name from the PSRS for volume-management purposes and you may receive a notification stating that you have been screened-out.
Your name may be removed permanently from the PSRS for one of the following reasons:
- You have been found qualified and do not need to undergo any of the assessments again.
- You have been exposed to the evaluation tools and have failed to meet the essential qualifications. Therefore, your application will no longer be considered as part of the selection process.
- What is random selection?
A: Random selection is a strategy that is sometimes used to manage applicant volume. It identifies a sub-sample of applicants by applying the element of chance at some point during the appointment process, using criteria identified by the hiring organization.
- How is this sub-sample of applicants determined?
A: To determine the sub-sample of applicants, the hiring organization identifies the following:
- criteria that candidates must meet; and
- the number of candidates to be selected.
With the assistance of PSRS, candidates who meet these criteria are identified and the sub-sample is randomly selected from that group.
- All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.
- Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed in this appointment process.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
