Our Innovation and Technology knowledge centre is seeking a Senior Council Manager to lead executive councils’ portfolio of nine councils and achieve membership growth and satisfaction targets. Additionally, the successful candidate will directly manage the day-to-day operations of two of the nine councils in the portfolio.

Passion in innovation and technology related issues, along with broad knowledge of a wide range of issues such as privacy and analytics, emergency management, security (including cyber) and enterprise risk management is highly desirable.

The ability to successfully work within a business model based on recruiting new members to the Conference Board’s executive councils and maintaining the existing membership base is required. You must understand and appreciate taking on challenges of identifying prospects, successfully recruiting them and delivering on an established value proposition.

About the Role

Some of the things you will do every day:
Identify prospects and directly recruit new members to ensure that the team meets and exceeds its targets for revenue and membership growth.
Lead and support other members of the knowledge centre’s council team to help them achieve their individual recruitment and retention goals.
Propose and implement improvements in the knowledge centre’s customer relationship management strategies and practices and ensuring smooth coordination of network recruitment initiatives across the knowledge centre.
Manage the operations of assigned councils while strengthening relationships with existing council members by monitoring their satisfaction.
Work with other members of the knowledge centre’s council team to identify and address issues and opportunities.
Identify potentially unmet needs and proposing and developing concepts for new executive councils in the field of innovation and technology.
Committed to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of experience in a professional, customer-oriented environment with responsibility for managing projects from inception to completion.
A bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) in a business or technology-focused field.
Strong content knowledge in the areas of innovation and technology. Broad working knowledge in the areas of security and emergency preparedness; privacy and data analytics; enterprise risk management
Demonstrated business development skills, customer relationship management techniques and results.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of meeting design, facilitation, adult learning principles and experience with a variety of meeting formats.
Experience with delivering formal presentations to executive level audiences.
Natural ability and willingness to share ideas and learnings with members and colleagues.
Solid project management skills.
An accomplished networker.
Advanced communication skills with the ability to influence.
Advanced writing skills and proficiency in synthesizing complex concepts and information from a variety of sources and a quick study on a breadth of topics.
Bilingualism is a definite asset.
Ability to travel is a requirement.
