Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled G2 Gas Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing natural gas and propane-fired HVAC equipment and related systems. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Ontario G2 Gas Technician licence, have strong mechanical knowledge, and be able to work safely in residential and commercial environments.
Duties
- Install, service, maintain, and repair gas-fired HVAC equipment, including furnaces, boilers, unit heaters, water heaters, and other gas appliances.
- Install and modify gas piping, fittings, valves, regulators, and related components in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Perform gas appliance start-ups, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues related to gas-fired equipment.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Conduct leak testing and ensure gas systems are operating safely and efficiently.
- Assist with HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair work as required.
- Complete required service reports, inspection documents, and work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable codes and regulations.
- Work independently or as part of a team on construction and service projects.
Requirements & Skills
- Valid G2 Gas Technician licence.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of natural gas and propane systems.
- Experience with furnaces, boilers, water heaters, unit heaters, and other gas-fired equipment.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems is an asset.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of lifting equipment and materials and working in various job-site conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Willingness to learn and develop additional HVAC and mechanical skills.
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
