Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law and one other legal area, in addition to a genuine interest in supporting clients through life-changing legal processes.
You will work closely with lawyers and clients, managing files from intake to submission, ensuring that every case is handled with care, accuracy, and efficiency while maintaining optimal client relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing and organizing immigration applications (e.g., work permits, LMIA, Express Entry, family sponsorships, PR renewals, U.S. waivers, and visitor visas, US immigration visa applications. others)
- Draft forms, cover letters, client correspondence, and supporting document checklists
- Review client-provided documents for accuracy and completeness
- Track deadlines, follow up with clients for missing documents, and maintain case progress in the firm’s management system
- Conduct basic legal research and stay informed about immigration policy updates
- Provide administrative support such as file opening/closing, document scanning, and communication with IRCC, CBSA, USCIS, CBP and consular offices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree
- 1–3 years of experience in Canadian immigration law and/or U.S. immigration is preferred, or other Canadian legal areas
- Proficiency in immigration portals such as IRCC, GC Key, Employer Portal, and US immigration platforms is an asset
- The ideal candidate will possess strong networking skills and the ability to build community relationships to support business development and promote the firm’s services.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
- Professional, empathetic, and client-focused attitude
- Experience in the use of AI is an asset
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., Arabic, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, Korean) is an asset
