Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components using various techniques and tools. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with welding processes such as MIG and TIG. The Welder/Fabricator will contribute to the production of high-quality metal structures, ductwork, and assemblies in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment effectively
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment to move heavy materials safely
- Measure components accurately using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts for manufacturing projects including ductwork and structural components
- Perform machining tasks as needed to ensure proper fit and finish of fabricated parts
- Follow safety protocols related to welding, fabrication, and machinery operation
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained
Requirements
- Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques in a manufacturing or construction setting
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including plasma cutting, press brake operation, and assembly methods
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, forklift operation, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics, and machining equipment
- Knowledge of ductwork fabrication and general construction practices is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Relevant certifications or training in welding (such as AWS certification) is a plus
