Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in the production process. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software, and experience with CNC machinery. The Tool and Die Maker plays a critical role in ensuring manufacturing efficiency and product quality through precise machining and assembly of tooling components.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CAD programs.
- Program CNC machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and CNC programming to produce accurate tooling components.
- Operate hand tools and welding equipment to assemble, modify, or repair tooling parts.
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and mathematical calculations to ensure precise fabrication.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances during manufacturing processes.
- Perform machining operations on CNC equipment with a focus on quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing tooling to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve tooling designs for efficiency and durability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in manufacturing or machining environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD tools.
- Experience programming CNC machinery including CNC lathes and CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, welding equipment, calipers, and other precision measurement devices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and troubleshooting CNC equipment.
- Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine setups.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality tooling components efficiently. Pay: $24.84-$50.00 per hour
