Job Description:
ElkLake Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in corporate finance, corporate development, or investment banking, and a strong interest in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior team members on a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Modeling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation, structuring, and negotiation of M&A transactions.
- Market Research: Conduct industry research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets, assess market trends, and provide insights into competitive dynamics.
- Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process, including reviewing financial statements, legal documents, and operational data to identify risks and opportunities.
- Transaction Support: Prepare presentation materials, including pitch decks, investment memos, and Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) to support transaction processes.
- Client Interaction: Support senior team members in client meetings and presentations, and help in the management of day-to-day client interactions.
- Data Management: Maintain and organize transaction data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Progress toward or completion of a professional designation such as CFA, CBV, or CPA is an asset.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in corporate finance, corporate development, or investment banking.
- Skills:
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
