Department Description
Mental Health-Adult Inpatient

The Adult Inpatient Mental Health Program offers stabilization and treatment to adults over 16 years of age. Our services offer short-term admissions for crisis stabilization, assessments of a variety of mental health spheres and coordination with community resources for follow up treatment and community support after discharge services are offered. Our team is comprised of highly skilled, multi-disciplinary staff.

Regular Part Time

Rate of Pay: $21.81 per hour - $22.76 per hour

Qualifications
Successful completion PSW certificate program
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof upon request
Valid First Aid certificate for which you can provide proof upon request
Ability to complete Management of Aggressive Behaviour (or equivalent) and Violence Prevention Training, High Risk SAFE management certification
Demonstrated knowledge of Cerner or an electronic health record preferred
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary health care team
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
