ackenzie County is currently inviting applications for an Equipment Operator seasonal position. Generally, the term of this position is from July – October. The primary location for the position will be in La Crete, however the individual may be required to work in other areas of the municipality as per operational requirements. This is a seasonal unionized position with a 40 hour work week (8 hours per day) Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor (South), the successful applicant will be responsible for:
M- anual labour (i.e. shoveling dirt);
M- aintenance and repair of signs, culverts, etc.;
R- esponsible for safe loading and moving of equipment;
T- he safe operation and minor maintenance of County equipment;
A- ssisting with crack-filling, pavement patching, road construction;
S- ome weekend or holiday work may be required; (Saturday and Sunday)
O- ther duties as required.
Requirements for this position is:
V- alid Class 5 drivers’ license; Class 1 or 3 an asset;
T
- wo to three years’ experience operating equipment (i.e. loader, backhoe, tractor, skid steer);
M- oderate physical strength and stamina which includes heavy lifting, bending, twisting and squatting;
M- echanical knowledge of equipment would be an asset;
K- nowledge of road maintenance;
A- dequate verbal and written communication skills;
E- vidence of successfully passing a police Criminal Record Check;
P- reference will be given to university/college students.
