Brief Job Description
The position of Inventory Supervisor will oversee the managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the Edmonton facility. This position involves overseeing the entire inventory process, from tracking stock levels to coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and accurate replenishment. The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for optimizing inventory procedures, reducing discrepancies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain.
This role will be a member of the operations leadership team and must adhere to the values of the organization when making decisions and solving problems. Our customers are at the core of all we do and this incumbent must exhibit a propensity to meet customer expectation without compromising safety, quality, compliance requirements, and unnecessary waste.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Regularly monitors and updates inventory levels to ensure accurate stock counts.
- Implements and maintains efficient inventory control systems and procedures.
- Conducts routine audits to identify and rectify discrepancies between actual and recorded inventory.
Replenishment Planning
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Manager to forecast and plan for replenishment needs.
- Generates purchase orders and coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Optimizes reorder points and safety stock levels to prevent stockouts.
Safety
- Provides and maintains a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all WCB Alberta and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Guides team towards achieving zero lost time and medical aid incidents.
Food Safety
- Enforces HACCP/CFIA and food safety regulations.
- Guides team towards being audit ready for BRC.
- Ensures all supplies and goods received follow HACCP guidelines.
Leadership
- Exemplifies honesty, integrity, quality and trust.
- Maintains engaged employee relations.
- Ensures continuous improvement initiatives are being fulfilled.
- 5S of workspace.
Procurement
- Ensures raw materials are on hand and on time to ensure fill rates of 98.5% and over.
- Maintains freshness and integrity of raw materials.
- Ensures proper tracking and inventory levels are accurate and up to date.
Customer
- Liaises with customer representatives.
- Supports sales in integrating new customers into the facility.

Position Requirements & Skills
- Degree in Business Management; Food Science; Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Knowledge of industry standards, equipment, and technical expertise.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, yield management, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
- Computer/System literacy - Microsoft Office; Inventory/Planning/Scheduling Software.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Effective communication and organizational planning skills.
- Strong decision-making, and analytical based problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Typically works Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm with some weekend requirements.
