Position Summary:
As a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) at Good Health CPS Guelph Clinic you will be an integral part of our cardiovascular care team. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of specialized cardiac diagnostic procedures and tests, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise and dynamic contribution will help ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Prepares and assesses patient (e.g., identification, consent, medical history, instruction of procedure)
- Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures (e.g., GXT, Stress Testing, Electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter hook-ups, intake)
- Monitors patient during and following procedures (e.g., stress testing).
- Analyzes test results; identifying abnormal/unexpected values and alerts physician as appropriate
- Prepares, organizes, processes and reports test results
- Scan and create preliminary holter and blood pressure monitor reports for Cardiologist Interpretation.
- Apply holter and blood pressure monitors to patients
- Patient education
- Cleaning/Disinfecting/Maintaining equipment
- Report to the Ambulatory Monitoring Team Lead and Cardiologists as required
- Additional responsibilities maybe added
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate from a recognized CVT Program
- Certified, or in the process of obtaining certification with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) or Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists (OSCT)
- Recent experience performing ECG's, exercise stress tests, stress echocardiograms and holter monitors
- Current BCLS required
- Good computer skills required
