UO Law is offering the opportunity for a Real Estate Law Clerk to commence work at an emerging legal practice in the commercial district of Pickering, Ontario on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and preparing documents pertaining to Real Estate Transactions
- Providing support with drafting legal documents
- Conduct research where necessary
- Drafting correspondence including memos, letters, documents and forms
- Faxing, photocopying, scanning and printing documentation
- Draft and maintain up to date correspondence
- Opening, managing and closing files
- Answering and directing client inquiries and taking detailed and accurate messages from clients
- Other administrative and general office duties as required such as managing calendars and coordinating meetings
- Organization of client files and maintaining an up-to-date file system
- Attending office team meetings
- Participating in social media content
Essential qualifications:
- Law clerk diploma or certification
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Real Estate is preferred
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transaction is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Computer proficiency: ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other MS software
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Desire and willingness to learn
