Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Lab Technician to join our growing team at our South Calgary Oral Surgery Office. This role is ideal for a registered dental technician who is confident working in a modern digital lab environment and enjoys combining precision, artistry, and technology to create high-quality dental restorations and implant guides.
You will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and repairing custom dental prosthetics and surgical guides using traditional lab techniques alongside advanced CAD/CAM and 3D printing technology.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Design
- Design and fabricate full immediate implant supported dentures and crowns (temporary or long-term temporary restorations), Essix retainers, implant guides, and dental models
- Restore and finish dental appliances
- Utilize CAD/CAM workflows to create accurate, functional, and aesthetic restorations
Technology & Equipment
- Operate CAD/CAM software and digital implant planning software to aid in planning and design
- Prepare, print, and post-process dental appliances using 3D printers
- Handle and work with dental resins and other lab materials safely and efficiently
Finishing & Quality Control
- Polish, fit, and apply final detailing to dental restorations
- Ensure all work meets quality, aesthetic, and functional standards
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with Clinical Personnel regarding case requirements and adjustments
- Troubleshoot design or fabrication challenges and propose solutions
Work Environment
- Primarily based in our South Calgary Oral Surgery office
- Opportunity to expand responsibilities and hours into additional offices as the role grows
- Lab-based and Operatory-based setting; may involve sitting and standing for extended periods
- Requires strong fine motor skills, attention to detail, and visual precision
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Dental Technician with proven experience as a Dental Lab Technician (digital lab experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, digital planning software and 3D printing workflows
- Experience with 3D printers is a strong asset
- Ability to work with hand tools and specialized lab equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with surgeons and clinical teams
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and high-quality craftsmanship
- IT proficiency (software) with a focus on resolving issues efficiently

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
