Scotiabank’s Cyber & Security Investigations team is responsible for the ongoing management of internal and external Cybercrime investigations with occurrence reporting to key stakeholders.
The Cybercrime Investigator works as part of a global investigation team that serves as Scotiabank’s centre of excellence for the gathering, processing, and reporting of digital evidence as it pertains to matters of cybercrime, employee misconduct, information and systems breaches. The Cybercrime Investigator will guarantee the adherence to the proven forensic science principles, methodologies, and techniques required to maintain the integrity and authenticity of digital evidence produced on-behalf of Scotiabank.

Adhering to industry standard principles, methodologies, and techniques when gathering, processing, handling and storing digital evidence is a part of your DNA.
You love to collaborate with and support various security teams to develop and maintain mechanisms for occurrence reporting and the consistent management of cybercrime investigations.

You have a strong and constant approach to critical thinking, data analytics and problem solving while maintaining both a creative and detailed orientation to job and team accountabilities.
The ability to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism is critical to success in this role.
Demonstrate working knowledge of digital forensic principles, methodologies, and techniques; including experience using digital forensic tools (i.e. EnCase, Cellebrite, Axiom, Relativity, or others)
You have strong experience with Windows/Unix operating systems, mobile devices, PC hardware and PC networking.
You have working knowledge of major programming languages (python, objective C, C#, SQL, AQL, others).
You have knowledge and experience with data mining and analytics using relational databases (i.e. Microsoft SQL).
You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
You will have 1+ year(s) working experience in information/cyber security, digital forensics, civil and criminal investigations, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree in an approved field from an accredited university.
A professional certification(s) and/or membership of associations in the field of information/cyber security and digital forensics would be an asset(s). Eg. Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE)), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
