MatrixHR is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electricians to join a significant full-time project at a leading shipyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Compensation & Benefits
- Day Shift Wage: $47.00/hour (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Shift Premiums: Additional $3.00/hour for: Second and third shifts
- Regular overtime opportunities

- RRSP matching contributions up to 2% after 6 months
- LOA of $175 paid 5 days per week, plus travel of $220 paid once per week, one time flight allowance for those eligible . To qualify you must live more thank 80 km from shipyard. To receive flight allowance you must be outside of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
Key Responsibilities
As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will play a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on naval and commercial vessels.
Duties Include:
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
- Install and terminate marine power, lighting, communication, control, and alarm systems.
- Pull, route, and secure electrical cables throughout vessels.
- Install cable trays, conduits, raceways, and electrical supports.
- Perform cable splicing, terminations, and testing.
- Install electrical equipment including switchboards, panels, motors, transformers, sensors, and control devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and system start-up activities.
- Support dockside and sea trial operations as required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures, confined space requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.
- Work collaboratively with other trades including welders, pipefitters, insulators, and mechanical technicians
Requirements
- Journeyperson/Red Seal Electrician certification required. Apprentice welcome, with relevant experience
- Industrial, marine, shipyard, offshore, heavy industrial, or construction electrical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience with cable pulling, terminations, equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current Confined Space Entry Certification
- Current Fall Protection Certification
- Current WHMIS Certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
