Overview
Seeking a self employed GENERAL HANDY PERSON to work with our Residential Property Management team. This candidate must be bondable (no criminal record) and carry their own liability insurance. He or she must have their own basic tools and vehicle.
Skills
This person must have good knowledge of basic home repairs and maintenance.
You must be a trustworthy and reliable self starter, who is friendly, organized and professional in appearance and mannerism.
We will require your detailed reporting and billing to be neat and submitted separately for each job. We pay out monthly.
Responsibilities
- Primary duties will include scheduling appointments to perform various interior and exterior household repairs and maintenance mostly in vacant or tenant occupied homes. Examples of the types of common tasks that will need to be completed include:
- changing light bulbs, furnace filters & smoke detectorschanging locking door hardwarereplacing window & patio door blinds & screensrepairing bifold door tracks,install door stops, door sweeps & weather strippingreplace towel bars, redo caulkingadjust cabinet hinges, knobs, handles and drawer tracks,minor drywall repairs/touch up painting,various outdoor maintenance and cleaning tasks
- If you can do some minor light duty plumbing and electrical repairs that would be an asset. Examples would be the repair and/or replacement of toilets and faucets, clear blocked drains and P-traps, install new light fixtures, install kitchen hood fans, replace broken light switches and plugs etc.

- This person will need to have cash flow available to pay for required materials, the costs of which to be invoiced with the labor portion. We pay out monthly on the 15th of each month. This person also must have the ability to pick up and deliver materials. Deposits can be provided for larger projects, if necessary.This would be a perfect opportunity for someone who is starting up a new business, has an existing business with room for new customers or is winding down to semi retirement. We are willing to pay $45 per billable hour. Please no phone calls or drop ins. You will be contacted for a meeting if your admission meets our initial screening. We are looking to support local and work with a resident of the Mission or Abbotsford areas.
