We are looking for a skilled In-House Industrial Mechanical to support our construction operations, with a focus on cement mixers, floor grinders, vacuum systems, etc. This role is critical to keeping our fleet running efficiently, minimizing downtime, and supporting field crews with reliable, job-ready equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on:
- Flooring equipment (grinders, rotor stator pumps, vacuums)
- Concrete restoration tools (saws, mixers, shot blasters)
- Inspect and service dust control systems (HEPA vacuums, filters)
- Repair small tools and handheld equipment
- Coordinate major repairs with external vendors
Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Respond to emergency job-site breakdowns
- Minimize downtime with efficient turnaround on repairs
- Provide remote or on-site support to crews as needed
Inventory & Parts Management
- Track and manage inventory of:
- Spare parts
- Consumables (electrical, mechanical, etc.)
- Maintain proper stock levels to avoid project delays
- Follow up on approved quotes and track delivery timelines
Tracking & Documentation
- Maintain maintenance logs for all equipment (shared with Warehouse Manager)
- Record repairs, inspections, and servicing activities
- Track equipment usage and service intervals
- Report downtime and equipment issues to Operations
Fleet & Tool Management
- Support tool check-out and return systems
- Ensure all equipment is job-ready before deployment
- Assist with shop organization and tool storage
Safety & Compliance
- Support safety regulations, including silica and dust control compliance
- Ensure all equipment meets operational safety standards
- Collaborate with Safety Officer on inspections and improvements
Crew Support
- Train crew members on proper equipment use and care
- Provide guidance on reducing wear and damage
- Assist with setup and commissioning of new equipment
- Work closely with crew leads to ensure job readiness
Collaboration & Shared Responsibilities
With Operations Manager
- Plan maintenance schedules
- Approve major repairs and equipment purchases
- Ensure fleet readiness
With Crew Leads
- Daily equipment inspections
- Tool accountability (check-out/return)
- Job-site readiness
With Safety Officer
- Dust control compliance
- Equipment safety standards
- Safe operating procedures
Qualifications
- Experience as a mechanic, electro-mechanical technician, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical repair
- Experience with construction, flooring, or concrete equipment (preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently under pressure
- Organized with strong documentation and inventory skills
