Overview
The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment at Taber Christian High School. Reporting directly to the Business Manager, the Custodial Worker will ensure that all classrooms, offices, common areas, washrooms, entrances, and outdoor access points are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
The Custodial Worker is expected to take ownership of the overall appearance and condition of the facility, proactively identifying cleaning, maintenance, and safety concerns and addressing them in a timely manner. The position requires flexibility to support school activities, community rentals, athletic events, tournaments, concerts, and other functions, including setup, cleanup, and restoration of the facility to regular operating condition.
The successful candidate will contribute to a positive Christian educational environment by demonstrating reliability, professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to serving the students, staff, families, and community who use the facility.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, offices, hallways, washrooms, common areas, and entrances.
- Collect and dispose of garbage, recycling, and waste materials throughout the facility.
- Perform floor care, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and operation of floor-cleaning equipment.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and other areas requiring routine sanitization.
- Monitor and replenish custodial, washroom, and cleaning supplies.
- Perform periodic deep-cleaning and seasonal cleaning tasks throughout the facility.
- Assist with facility setup, takedown, cleaning, and restoration following school events, tournaments, rentals, and community activities.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and facility repair needs to the Business Manager and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Applicant would have custodial experience. Resume and references should demonstrate experience in those areas.
- Strong ability to communicate
- Understanding of technological functions such as email, google calendar & whatsapp
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs safely and independently
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
