We are looking for a Health & Safety Assistant to support our Safety Officer in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about workplace safety in an industrial environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with daily health & safety tasks and inspections
- Help maintain COR compliance and safety documentation
- Participate in incident investigations and follow-up actions
- Conduct or assist with safety orientations for new employees
- Support training programs and safety meetings
- Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices on the production floor
- Help identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with WCB reporting and modified duty coordination
- Keep safety records organized and up to date
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in health & safety programming within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
- Knowledge & understanding of Manitoba workplace safety regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working both in an office and plant setting
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees and supervisors
- First Aid certification is an asset
- Safety-related education or training (NCSO, CSO, COR knowledge, etc.) is considered an asset
