Site Description:
Imperial Oil’s Sarnia and Nanticoke refineries are large, high-capacity fuel and chemical production sites operating 24/7. Both facilities handle heavy industrial processes, hazardous materials, and constant transport activity. Security duties include access control, patrols of high-risk zones, monitoring alarms, supporting emergency response plans, and ensuring safe, compliant operations across complex refinery environments.
Key responsibilities:

Conduct random vehicle checks and inspections as required by the client.

Maintain accurate gate logs, and to retain them as required by the client.

Perform access control at assigned location checking badges/proper swipes.
-
Ensure vehicles have proper pass and signage before entering site.

Ensure material is not being removed from sight unauthorized.

Secure all gates/fence line at the conclusion of each shift.

Observe all perimeters and report all suspicious activity to supervisor.

Perform temperature checks screening locations.

Operate vehicles to and from work location and to perform patrols.

Liaise with other security staff on site.

Provide assistance to all IOL contacts and contractors when requested.

Liaise with site Security Front Line Supervisor.

Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency
-
responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.

Fast paced work environment that may require you to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
Prerequisites:
-
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid G Driver’s License
-
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)

English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
