What will I be doing?
The Junior Maintenance Manager assists in overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role supports preventative maintenance programs, repairs, contractor coordination, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily hotel maintenance operations, including guest rooms, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime
- Supervise and support maintenance technicians and contractors
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, fire regulations, and hotel policies
- Help manage maintenance budgets and control operational costs
What are we looking for?
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or building operations
- Diploma or certification in building maintenance, electrical, HVAC or a related field
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Ability to lead a small team and work under pressure
- Strong mechanical ability with attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English; written and verbal
Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 24.5 kg and push/pull 14.5 kg
- Must have the visual ability to identify and match colors for painting color coded steam pipes and identifying color coded electrical wires
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel’s satisfaction.
