3rd / 4th Year Apprentice Carpenter

We are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Carpenter to our team. The Apprentice Carpenter is responsible for supporting the crew in the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products while continuing to develop their carpentry skills on site.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Assist with building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring, and installing walls and roofing systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches with guidance to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Support finishing carpentry activities such as installing trim, doors, stairs, molding, and hardware.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials made of wood or wood substitutes under supervision.
- Support crew by assisting with scaffolding and other construction structures, as required.
- Ensure layouts align with building codes using measuring tools.
- Maintain clear communication with the Foreman and crew to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite at the start and end of each shift.
- Keep tools and equipment clean, maintained, and in good working order.
- Assist in maintaining Health & Safety standards by following all safety protocols and reporting hazards or incidents.
- Complete required paperwork and assist with site documentation as needed.
- Continuously develop skills through hands-on experience and willingness to learn.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Include but are not limited to:
- Registered 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Carpenter.
- 2–4+ years of carpentry experience (commercial and/or institutional preferred).
- Basic understanding of carpentry techniques and construction methods.
- Ability to use electrical and manual tools safely.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (with support).
- Zoom boom, skid steer, fall protection, or aerial work platform tickets are an asset.
- Must possess a valid Standard First Aid Level C or higher (or willing to obtain).
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow site safety protocols.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the trade.
- Ability to manage time, take direction, and complete assigned tasks.
- Must have a valid and clean Driver’s License and be willing to travel to various sites.
