We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to join our growing farming operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of farm equipment to ensure our operation runs safely and efficiently.
This position offers the opportunity to work with modern agricultural equipment in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on agricultural equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Complete welding and fabrication repairs as required.
- Install, assemble, and modify equipment and components.
- Perform in-season repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Communicate equipment issues and repair needs with management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining agricultural or heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems, Electrical systems
- Equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic software and tools.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience agricultural equipment brands is an asset.
- Experience operating agricultural machinery and equipment.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 3 or Class 1 is considered an asset).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of: Lifting heavy components, Climbing and working on equipment , Working in various weather conditions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly during busy farming seasons.
- Willingness to work extended hours during planting and harvest.
- Commitment to safety and preventative maintenance.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve continuously.
- Experience with potato equipment, tractors, trucks, forklifts, and storage equipment is an asset.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture technology and GPS systems is an asset.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
