The Material Coordinator will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for warehouse operations, receiving production materials and equipment, coordinating with QA/QC for items requiring quarantine and testing, transfer of materials within the facility, monitoring inventory levels, communicating with production and purchasing departments to ensure optimal stock levels of production materials, and performing regular inventory cycle counts.
Sweetgrass is a 100,000 + sq. ft. cannabis production facility located in Strathcona County, Alberta and is regulated by the Cannabis Act (Canada) and its Regulations. Ø Loading and unloading of shipments with forklift or other materials handling equipment;
Ø Initial inspection of materials for production and other departments;
Ø Assist QA/QC with quarantine of items and quality documentation for determining material conformance to specifications;
Ø Compile and maintain shipping/receiving records, both manual and in ERP system software; and
Ø Preparing shipments and shipping documentation as required.
Ø Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments, according to production schedules or department priorities; and
Ø Communication with departments to determine material requirements and generating expediting reports for order tracking.
Ø Requisition of inventory and tracking of delivery dates to ensure order fulfilment according to job priorities and material availability;
Ø Monitor inventory levels and communicate with appropriate departments to ensure optimal stock levels of production materials are available;
Ø Warehouse organization for optimal efficiency, proper labeling, and ensuring FIFO of stock rotation; and
Ø Perform inventory cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure inventory records are correct and up to date.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Ø High School Diploma or equivalent. Parts or Materials Technician apprentice or Journeyperson would be considered an asset;
Ø Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
Ø Mechanical/technical inclination with knowledge related to cultivation/horticulture, irrigation systems, HVAC or manufacturing would be preferred;
Ø Solid organizational skills in order to prioritize tasks to ensure internal deadlines and scheduling commitments are met; and
Ø Valid driver’s license and vehicle mandatory.

You are SAFETY CONSCIOUS, strictly adhere to all safety protocol and possess a positive safety-conscious attitude.
You are an EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNICATOR, with strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and a positive attitude.
Ø Minimum of 3 years working in a similar role such as warehousing, shipping/receiving, materials management, expediting, inventory control, or logistics;
Ø Experience of working in a highly regulated facility would be highly beneficial; and
Ø Experience with following SOP’s and reporting requirements to meet or exceed Good Production/Manufacturing Practices (GPP/GMP) would be considered a strong asset.
