About the role
The Accounting Manager plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for overseeing and improving financial administration across multiple entities. The Accounts Payable team will report directly to this role.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in monthly closing and reporting, process optimization, payroll accounting, accounts payable management and relevant data analysis. The successful candidate will also have a proactive mindset and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting and lead month-end closing agenda, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
- Prepare, review and analyze financial statements
- Perform and/or coordinate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset registration, sub-ledgers and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure spare part inventory costing and valuation is accurate.
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with the completion of the annual audit or review engagement.
- Manage lease contracts and prepare cost recoveries.
- In charge of payroll accounting and accounts payable
- Prepare journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
- Document and optimize key accounting processes (e.g. accounts payable).
- Support the accounting for property holding companies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Assist with government surveys, tax filings and bank payments.
- Work closely with the Controller and Financial Analyst to develop the budget and investigate variances and unusual items
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude and a team-player mentality. Candidates must have formal accounting or business education, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- CPA or equivalent designation.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (experience in manufacturing industry is a plus).
- Familiar with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365). Experience using Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP software is an asset.
- Self-driven and good time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
- Hands-on approach with strong accountability.
- Works with minimal supervision and ensures tasks are completed with high accuracy, efficiency, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- A fast learner that is willing to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments, including various projects.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

This position is on-site and will be located at 729 Powell Street, Vancouver BC or 7808 Beedie Way location in Delta, BC.
