Position Summary:
As a key member of the healthcare team under the direction of Executive and Office Manager. the Medical Receptionist works closely with patients, families and caregivers to organize the patient’s journey through their appointments at the clinic.
Responsibilities:
Administration
· Patient check-in.
· Prioritize and respond to phone calls and messages in a timely manner
· Triage urgencies to ensure appropriate intervention & responds to the patient appropriately.
· Provides a variety of administrative duties within clinic such as Data cleaning,faxes, scanning, shredding, dictation letters, photocopying, ordering clinical supplies, making patient information booklets, and other tasks as required by the management team.
· Third party billing for form fees and product sales
Other duties as assigned

Education
Medical Office Assistant Certificate or diploma or Administrative Certificate or Diploma.
Experience
- Minimum 3 year in a medical administration using electronic medical records software
- Solid understanding of the Health Information Act, patient privacy law and FIOP
- Intermediate level knowledge of medical terminology
- Solid skills in using software such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent understanding of Physician & RN instructions to patients in written format
- Experience using Accuro EMR is an Asset
