Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team for before and after school care programs. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during their early learning years. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong teaching skills, and be committed to fostering developmental growth through educational activities and positive interactions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during before and after school hours.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, including tutoring and learning exercises.
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Assist children with homework and reinforce learning concepts through engaging teaching methods.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom or activity space.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop program schedules and special events.
- Adhere to all safety policies, health guidelines, and licensing requirements related to early childhood education.
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education principles and practices. Also open to CYW and OT.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to create engaging activities tailored to various developmental levels.
- Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude towards children’s individual needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment dedicated to child development.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Position can be divided into 2 part time jobs for the right candidate
- More hours available if willing to travel to our other location (about 15 mins away)
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
