Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Production Technician is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing operations involving plastics, metals, and composite materials. This role supports production activities by operating tools and equipment, inspecting components, and ensuring that work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with quality standards and technical drawings. This position reports directly to the Product Realization Manager.
Duties
- Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and verbal directions to complete production tasks within tolerance and quality specifications.
- Accurately position and secure templates for machining and assembly tasks.
- Operate a variety of hand tools to perform manufacturing processes on plastics, metals, and composite materials.
- Use a computer to access basic software applications and demonstrate a willingness to learn new production related systems.
- Set up and operate a drill press for drilling and countersinking operations.
- Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., Vernier calipers) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect materials and components to ensure they meet specified dimensional and quality requirements.
- Safely lift and handle materials and components up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Operate spray equipment for painting and coating applications following standard procedures.
- Apply proper safety protocols at all times to ensure personal and team safety when operating machines or handling materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including counting parts and updating stock lists as required.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed by management to support production goals and business needs.
- Perform packaging, labeling, and shipping operations with attention to accuracy and traceability.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, ERP systems).
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machining (preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry experience is a plus).
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Physically able to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, chemicals (e.g., coatings), and moderate noise levels.
- Standing, bending, and lifting required throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
