Assistant Baker – New Bakery
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Assistant Baker to join our team for our new bakery.
This role is focused on daily production baking, with an emphasis on consistency, quality, and execution. The ideal candidate thrives in early mornings, works efficiently, and takes pride in producing excellent bread and baked goods. Early morning starts are required, this job starts your day at 3am!
Key Responsibilities
- Produce daily bread and core baked goods (loaves, buns, laminated items as required)
- Follow recipes and production schedules with consistency and accuracy
- Scale, mix, proof, and bake products to quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed
- Assist with packaging and preparing products for service/display
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate prep needs
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications
- Experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen (bread production preferred)
- Strong understanding of baking fundamentals and dough handling
- Ability to work early mornings and in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, consistent, and detail-oriented
- Team-first mindset with strong work ethic
- Would consider apprenticeship to work under our red seal baker
